{1} One of the first communities I came across when joining the SPN fandom was [info]spn_postcards. It's basically us the fans sending the crew thank you cards for all their investment and hard work on the show (which I think is a wonderful idea because they deserve tons of love for making the show as awesome as it is). So I was all HELLS YEAH LET'S SEND SOME POSTCARDS. I "only" sent 2 but I'm really happy they got them! Check out the wall of postcards in one of the offices, it's epic.

Mine are in the sixth picture under the huge Impala. And the thing is, I sent the cards with at least one month time difference yet they're directly below each other... Someone has some mad deducting skills, I'm amused creeped out!

There'll be a new call soon because they're shooting the 100th episode in January so if you want, join the fun and send a card of your own. ;)

{2} Oh shit, why did I turn on the My Guests feature, now people will see that I'm stalking their journals.

{3} [info]veggie17 and I were talking about how SPN got our research mojo swinging, as in, finding out about the concept of angel mythology, reading biblical-themed books, lore, etc. It's great to know I'm not the only one who's interested in these themes because of the show. To be honest, it's the first time in my life that I'm actively invested in learning more about religious beliefs and the stories behind them.

To my defense, I was brought up in a non-religious family and every time the topic of religion came up in school or anywhere else I wasn't really interested. That is mostly because the concept of religion was abstract and alien to me, I couldn't relate to any of it because it simply wasn't part of my life.

Also, for the longest time I referred to myself as an atheist. But actually, I like the term heathen quite a bit more because it basically means "non-believer in any of the Big Three world religions". I also guess I've always felt more drawn to a pagan way of life even though I haven't really found a place for myself yet. But I'm losing focus here.

So I started reading up on various subject matters with Wikipedia being a huge help. The Internet in general, because I don't want to order too many books just now. So far I dipped into the Book of Enoch (Book 1, I zoomed out at the astronomy domine part of Book 2...) and John Milton's Paradise Lost, but that is a really tough read even with annotations. And beware, I'm going to have a look at the bible (probably starting at the back with the Book of Revelation because who needs the foreplay, give me the apocalypse already). Still certain that my family would put me into the nuthouse for this but hey, it's ~research~ after all. I also have a voucher so I'll purchase a few books at bol.de, just hopefully nothing too obvious. LOL, Dictionary of Angels and The Field Guide to Demons, are you kidding me.

{4} Thanks for your time, I guess? <3

There'll probably be another review post that is more spamtastic. Until then, this applied to a lot of things this year –

This and me falling back into incredibly stupid habits that I initially wanted to get rid of. Way to go, self.

Also, I want more icons. If LJ actually did something useful with the money people pay them I'd consider getting an account but then it's wonky one way or another so why bother with the money at all. Damn you LJ, get your shit sorted out already. Guess I'll go through my current icons, delete and rename a few and go from there for the moment. And let's see what Christmas brings, maybe I'll invest in the LJ ~services then.
